Garden City CC Employee goes Above & Beyond!
On November 20, 2025 our very own Cathie Haworth was recognized at the annual GCWCC Above and Beyond Banquet.
Cathie has dedicated over 30 years to GCCC. A lifelong resident of Garden City, her commitment to volunteering started while she was raising her family. She often worked behind the scenes—score keeping, preparing snacks for teams, organizing events, and willingly stepping in whenever necessary. Cathie began working in the Canteen in 2008 and soon took over its operation. The small Canteen grew in popularity immediately. She was the obvious choice for Canteen Manager when the concession in the Seven Oaks Sportsplex began operation in 2015.
Cathie’s steadfast dedication to the Breakaway Grill, our Centre, and the broader community is exceptional. She enthusiastically welcomes and organizes local high school volunteers, mentoring them alongside her team to help young employees learn from her exemplary work ethic and level of commitment. She is a valued member of the Garden City Community Centre family and widely respected by her colleagues and the concession team. Congratulations Cathie!
