Now Hiring - Arena Operator
We are currently seeking a Part-time Arena Operator for Saturday and Sunday daytime shifts (16-20 hours per week). This role has the potential to turn into a full-time position. Please see details of the position below:
Reports & responsible to: Manager, Facility Operations, Garden City Community Centre and Seven Oaks Sportsplex
Position summary: Maintain the ice surface for all user groups and monitor all mechanical systems to ensure a safe environment for all users.
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Open and close as required
- Maintain the ice surface
- Daily maintenance of ice equipment and Zamboni
- Record data for ice plant and boiler room
- Assist custodial employees as required
- Change or assist in arena glass changes as needed
- Rink glass cleaning as required
- Create and work in a Safe Work environment
- Snow clearing as required
Qualifications:
- Must possess valid Refrigeration Certificate
- Must be able to follow directions as required
- Familiar with basic power tools
- WHIMIS certificate (online course)
- First aid & CPR Certification an asset
