At GCCC we believe that all children have the right to play and learn sports in a safe and inviting atmosphere by great coaching mentors. We feel that our highly motivated team of professional volunteer coaches and staff will make your child's sporting experience one they will cherish.
In partnership with the North Winnipeg Minor Baseball Association, Garden City community centre offers a fun, affordable baseball program for youth who want to learn and play baseball or continue developing their baseball skills at a high level in a competitive environment. Our baseball programs are available for children ages 4 to 18. The Rally Cap Program for ages 4 to 6 gives the younger children a fun environment where they are introduced to the game. The Grand Slam program for ages 7 to 9 offers game introduction as well as skill development and team-oriented activities. At the U11 level, players who begin to seek competitive game play at a higher level, have the opportunity to tryout for “AA” baseball where city-wide teams compete against each other and there are both City and Provincial Championship tournaments. For those wanting to play recreational baseball, our “A” program runs within the community playing against other local community centres. At the U13 (12 and 13 year old), U15 (14 and 15 year old) and U18 (16 to 18 year old) levels, players have the option to play at the highest level of baseball, “AAA” as well as “AA” or “A” baseball programs. Tryouts are offered to all players who wish to play at any level other than the “A” program and there are opportunities to play for various Baseball Manitoba Provincial teams.
